providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the\r\n    Earth\u2019s physical features, human societies, and the interactions\r\n    between the two. The department offers under graduate and H.S level\r\n    courses and research opportunities for students interested in\r\n    exploring various aspects of geography. Along with the theoretical\r\n    framework, the department has established well-equipped Cartography\r\n    laboratory and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Lab to learn and\r\n    enhance their skills through practical applications in the fields of\r\n    Cartography, Remote Sensing, GIS and GPS (Global Positioning System).\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\n    The Department of Geography has always committed for excellence. The\r\n    primary objective of the Department is to provide students with both\r\n    the breadth and depth of knowledge in Geography required for analyzing\r\n    and interpreting spatial patterns and processes. Through\r\n    interdisciplinary approaches, the department seeks to foster critical\r\n    thinking, spatial reasoning, and a deep appreciation for the\r\n    interconnectedness of the world we live in. The department\u2019s faculty\r\n    consists of experienced scholars and researchers who are specialized\r\n    in different subfields of geography, including physical geography,\r\n    human geography, environmental geography, GIS, and remote sensing.\r\n    They are dedicated to providing high-quality education, conducting\r\n    cutting-edge research, and engaging in community outreach initiatives.\r\n    The Department provides training to students in various practical\r\n    aspects of Geography. It also organises study tours in the various\r\n    locations of North-East India and beyond in order to introduce\r\n    students to the dynamic nature of geographic features and real-world\r\n    problems in an interactive and practice-oriented way.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\n    The Geography Department is committed to producing well-rounded\r\n    graduates who are equipped with critical geographic knowledge and\r\n    skills that can be applied to various career paths.
