The department of Political Science was established in the year 2020. The Head of the Department is Dr. Nazmul Hussain Laskar. The department prepares the students to compete in today’s competitive job market by developing professional skills to adopt new and changing trends and challenges. Considering the importance of soft skills in the 21st century, the department periodically organises various co-curricular activities like debates, quizzes, declamation contests, departmental seminars etc. The department focuses both on theoretical and applied politics. It enables students to inculcate and develop the spirit of nationalism, patriotism, brotherhood and democratic values. It prepares students to encounter future challenges and guide them to build a strong and vibrant nation. It teaches the values of liberty, equality, fraternity, justice,peace, love, humanity and freedom.

In every year, the department celebrates important national and international days like Independence Day, Constitution Day,Republic Day, World Human Rights Day, UNO Day etc in a befitting manner. 

The department plans to publish a wall magazine soon. The department also wishes to organise an international seminar in the next academic session.
