NCC UNIT

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the Indian military cadet corps wing of the Indian Armed Forces. It provides structured training and development opportunities to students of schools and colleges across the country. The NCC not only helps prepare young people for a career in the Armed Forces but also promotes leadership, discipline, patriotism, self-confidence, and a spirit of service to the nation.

The role of NCC in instilling the values of character, discipline, hard work, responsibility, and teamwork among students is widely recognized. It contributes significantly to shaping young individuals into responsible, confident, and dynamic citizens. In order to develop the spirit of national unity, integrity, discipline, and social responsibility among students, particularly those from rural backgrounds, the college administration has initiated the process of introducing an NCC Unit at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Government Model College, Katlicherra.

• To create human resources comprising organized, trained, and motivated youth.
• To provide leadership opportunities in all walks of life and encourage youth to remain available for the service of the nation.
• To provide a suitable environment to motivate young people to take up a career in the Armed Forces.
• To develop character, comradeship, discipline, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service among the youth of the country.

The motto of NCC is “UNITY and DISCIPLINE”. The motto reflects the core values of the organization and emphasizes the importance of unity, discipline, teamwork, and national integration among young cadets.

The emblem of NCC consists of three colours: red, dark blue, and light blue. These colours represent the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force respectively. The seventeen lotuses represented in the emblem indicate the seventeen Directorates of the country. The emblem symbolizes the unity, strength, discipline, and national character that the NCC seeks to develop among its cadets.
